Who we are
Driftcart is a Shopify app made by Better Store Labs, based in Pune, India. Questions about this policy: support@betterstorelabs.com.
What Driftcart accesses and stores
When a merchant installs Driftcart we request these Shopify permissions: read products, read themes and read orders. We use them to power the drawer and to detect whether the theme app embed is switched on. We store:
- Shop data: your shop domain, current plan, and the drawer settings and upsell rules you configure.
- Cart events: anonymous events such as drawer opens and upsell clicks, used for the analytics dashboard.
- Upsell attribution: an order ID and order number when an order includes an upsell shown in the drawer, so we can report upsell revenue.
Driftcart does not store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses or customer IDs.
What the storefront script does
On your storefront the drawer reads and updates the shopper's cart through Shopify's own Cart API. Your drawer settings are requested from our server through a Shopify app proxy. We do not set advertising cookies or track shoppers across sites.
Retention
Order-linked data (cart events and upsell attribution) is deleted after 13 months. When a merchant uninstalls Driftcart, Shopify's shop-erasure process removes the shop's remaining data.
Shopify privacy requests
Driftcart handles Shopify's three mandatory privacy webhooks: customer data request, customer erasure and shop erasure. Because we hold no customer-identifying data, customer requests will find nothing tied to an individual. Merchants can also contact us directly at the address above.
Sharing
We do not sell data. Data is processed by the infrastructure providers that host the app and by Shopify. [List hosting provider here.]
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold. Email us and we will respond.
