Common questions

Driftcart is built for Online Store 2.0 themes and installs through a theme app embed. Many themes ship their own cart drawer, so Driftcart hides common native drawer and notification UI to avoid showing two at once. That suppression is best effort, since Shopify has no universal switch to disable a theme's cart. If your theme still shows its own drawer, email us with your theme name and we will take a look.

If your theme is Online Store 2.0, enabling the app embed in the theme editor is all that is required. Driftcart was developed and tested against Dawn and its official derivatives. Heavily customized themes can behave differently, so check the drawer on a preview theme first. The Free plan is there for exactly that.

Driftcart's storefront script is plain JavaScript with no framework, loaded through Shopify's theme app embed. Your drawer settings are fetched from our server and cached, so repeat page loads do not re-download them.

On the Free plan the drawer stops showing on your storefront once you pass 30 orders in a month. It comes back when you upgrade to Pro or when the month's count resets. If your store ever cannot reach our server, the drawer keeps showing rather than disappearing on a network hiccup.

No. The drawer's checkout button hands off to Shopify's native checkout, so Shop Pay and Shopify's dynamic checkout buttons work as usual.

Driftcart stores your drawer settings and upsell rules, plus anonymous cart events and order references used for upsell attribution. It never stores customer names, emails or IDs. Order-linked data is pruned after 13 months, and Shopify's uninstall and data-erasure webhooks are handled. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
